Grace

 Just as I was about to admit defeat and not post a blog today someone posted this on their timeline  

And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace.

James 1:5 TPT


I just love that second line. How often do we feel just plain stupid when we dont understand what God is doing, when we don't see what others seem to clearly see, when our Bible knowledge is dwarfed by that of those around us?  But all we have to say is 'help!!' and God will give us wisdom. 

My 20 Yr old is massively zealous at the moment. All very black and white, right and wrong. Lots of judgement and not much mercy 😊 I remember being exactly like that in my 20s when I was not long saved. It really is a wonder that any of my friends stuck with me!  Thank goodness that despite my crack-handed, tactless, downright unbiblical approach to lots of people and situations God graciously overwhelmed my failures and came alongside me to gently correct and lovingly tidy up the mess.

Maundy Thursday

 Apologies for late posting - migraine last night meant I had neither the inspiration or the ability to sit in front of a screen.  All good now though - so it's just the inspiration I have to find 😁 Today is Maundy Thursday where the church calendar remembers the Last Supper, the washing of the disciples feet and the giving of a new commandment to ' love one another'.  For Jesus and the disciples  the meal was a Passover Seder where the people of Israel remembered their freedom from slavery in Egypt.  The meal took a set format with specific food and prayers and scripture readings - a seat was left empty for Elijah in case he returned and was hungry. Candles were lit and cups of wine drunk in specific order to remember particular parts of the story.  If you ever get the chance to eat a Passover meal I strongly suggest that you do it.  It will help you see the Last Supper in a whole new light.  What we now call The Last Supper was, for Jesus and H...
